21-Sept-24: Bits and Bobs

Wait, hold on, I've been manually time-stamping these blogs and only just realized that I had previously stamped them for August? Really? Am I that time-scrambled? Anyways, fixed, but, gosh.

Did my piece in the Cohost Community Canvas, felt a bit bittersweet since it does feel like signing off, even with... gosh only nine days left, time really is a smoothie, huh. Regardless. I do kind of think I should have made it anti-aliased, considering all the other pieces on it. But hey, I'm sticking with aliased art in this period, why not? It'll be something to look back on, reminisce.

I think Cohost dying has made me realized just how social media poisoned I am. Like, I'm checking Neocities like it's a social media site. Why? Literally, what do I think is going to happen? I've been doing it before, just with itch.io numbers, constantly checking for a new rating or comment or something. Gah. Need to detox, focus more on just making rather than the response. Yet here I am at the same time, trying to use social media more... Oddity.

It doesn't help that I think I'm also trying to cut content in general. Unsubbed from most of my Youtube feed since I just never bothered watching them, same with Twitch streams. Quit gacha games since once you miss a day that FOMO feeling dies off quickly and then you realize you haven't really had fun with it for a while and just quit. All combining to make me just mindlessly check social media more and guhhhhh.

Anyways. Bit more site work as well. Gallery up, even if the pieces I'd like to show off are a bit sparse. Also remembered that itch.io has those embedded store links that I think I can use for the games page. Still need to think about how I want to configure that, though. Ahmwma recently showed off an example on using Decker in a iframe, definitely something I might want to experiment with... Websites are truly wondrous things...

Will probably be in a holding pattern for the rest of September. Try to curb bad habits, do more worthwhile things in my meanwhiles. October'll see the start of the yuri VN jam, which I'm hoping I can participate and make something in. Making things! What a concept, huh.
